Preparing
for a Painting Project
These are some of the questions that a painting
contractor will need to know in order to assess your project:
- What is the size of the room(s)? House? Area to be painted?
- Is it furnished?
- What kind of flooring is in place? Will it be replaced also?
- How high are the ceilings?
- Are there crown mouldings or other decorative mouldings
or built-ins in the room? If so, are they going to be painted?
- Are the ceilings to be painted also? If so, the same color
as the walls?
- Is the new color many shades lighter or darker than the
existing wall color?
- Is there any drywall or wall repair work that needs to
be done prior to painting?
- Are the windows finished with drywall or are there window
casings?
- Is the woodwork to be painted also? Baseboards, doors,
windows
